A Burger Cook-Off in Spartanburg will support for local children battling cancer and their families.

The Downtown Spartanburg’s Fourth Annual Cribb’s Kitchen Burger Cook-Off will occur at noon on April 1 in front of sponsors RJ Rockers and Cribb’s Kitchen on East Main Street.

Proceeds from the event will go to The Children’s Security Blanket, a Spartanburg-based organization that provides “comprehensive support and loving compassion to families whose children are battling cancer to improve their overall quality of life.” The organization serves children and families throughout South Carolina and portions of North Carolina.

The Burger Cook-Off is a friendly cooking competition with the opportunity for teams of family members, friends or colleagues to display their skills on the grill as they create their own custom burger while raising money for a great cause.

Winners will receive a unique trophy designed by local artists Kevin Riley and Jeremy Kemp and will have their burger featured at Cribb’s Kitchen. The family-friendly event will give participants the chance to sample slider-sized portions of the team burgers while enjoying live music, children’s activities and special guests.

Sponsors of the Burger Cook-Off, include presenting sponsor RoseCrest Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, as well as Vic Bailey Volkswagen and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Other sponsors are Cannon Roofing; Switzer Wealth Partners; Bounds of Fun; Cooper Standard; George Johnson Insurance; Norman, Johnson & Co., PA; Melinda Moretz, M.D.; Laura Allen and Roger Sullivan; Ivey-O’Sullivan Healthcare Services; Valley Falls Terrace; Caroline’s Cakes; Bella Vision, Hyde Law Firm; Carolina Alliance Bank; Lonnie Miller Realty; Pryor Diversified; Richard T.
