Education/Learning Challenges of Childhood Cancer
Insights and Tools for Parents/Caregivers and Educators

While cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in America, more children are surviving, and that’s good news! Many are challenged, however, to overcome education deficits and limitations, and lead independent lives.

As treatment ends, the march to control/cure cancer turns to restoring learning abilities and overcoming education barriers.

Working alongside the South Carolina Cancer Alliance, the South Carolina Public Charter School District, national organizations including the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers and the Childhood Cancer Foundation, and conducting extensive literature searches, we have gathered information on childhood cancer education challenges and solutions.

The links below lead to helpful information and guidance. Our goal is to provide parents/caregivers and educators with the insights and tools to give childhood cancer survivors the best opportunities for full and independent lives.
