A victory for children facing childhood cancer.
Children’s Cancer Partners offers two the three-day camps to Children’s Cancer Partners families – Camp Victory and Camp Rachel. These camps give families the opportunity to make memories while uniting with others who share their challenges. Children and their family receive the chance to participate in activities such as fishing, exploring nature and enjoying hands-on crafts and games.
Camp Victory
Held each summer for the last 15 years, Camp Victory is a unique summer camp experience exclusively for the children we serve, their siblings and caregivers. Camp Victory allows the children to put their day-to-day battle with cancer on hold and enjoy a brief respite and sense of normalcy for a bit as they trade their typical schedule of doctor’s visits for summertime fun.
Camp Victory significantly encourages families and provides a reprieve from the intensity of all they are dealing with. Workshops on affordable nutrition, managing financial challenges and peer support are available for parents and caregivers. Camp Victory is partially funded through a grant from Care Camps. Camp Rachel
Camp Rachel is a very special three-day gathering of Children’s Cancer Partner’s families who have lost a child to cancer. It is a time and place that gives grieving loved ones – Moms and Dads, Sisters and Brothers – the opportunity to participate in activities alongside others who share their experience, and know their loss. Spiritual and counseling professionals are on hand to guide a process that turns loss into loving memories. Camp Rachel is named for a brave young lady whose all too short life inspired our organization’s expansion across the entire Carolinas.
