We are thrilled to announce that Michelle Calhoun, MSW, has joined the Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas (CCP) team! Michelle brings a wealth of experience, compassion, and dedication to her new role as a Family Advocate, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her aboard.

Michelle earned her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her professional journey includes expertise in pediatric care, family support, and community engagement. As a Transition Coordinator for the ST3P-UP Study at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Michelle bridged gaps between healthcare services and patient needs, ensuring a smoother transition to adult services for participants. At Brenner Children’s Hospital, she worked as a Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Social Work Intern, where she connected families to vital services and organizations while gaining a deep understanding of the unique needs of children battling cancer and blood disorders.
Michelle’s dedication extends beyond her professional achievements—she is fluent in spoken Arabic and a certified Best Friends Master Trainer, equipping her with tools to connect with diverse populations and provide tailored care.
Michelle’s extensive experience and her passion for making a difference align perfectly with our mission to support children battling cancer and their families. We know she will make a significant impact at CCP, and we’re eager for our families, partners, and supporters to get to know her. Please join us in giving Michelle a warm welcome to the CCP family!
