Brain tumor discovered at age 8, this single-parent family is supported every step of the way.
Kate was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age eight and entered our program six months later when her social worker connected her with Children’s Cancer Partners. Kate’s mom is a single parent raising three children, Kate and her two little brothers, one who has special needs.
As Kate’s family has faced the financial burdens that often come with a cancer diagnosis, CCP has assisted with travel reimbursements and in-kind bags filled with necessities like toothpaste and diapers. Kate and her brothers are familiar faces at our monthly family nights, traveling from Shelby, NC each time as they value the opportunity to connect with other families who share in their struggle. At this year’s Camp Victory Kate found the courage to enjoy a zip line for the first time!
