SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – All community members are invited to eat or compete at Downtown Spartanburg’s Fourth Annual Cribbs Kitchen Burger Cook-Off. The event is on Saturday, April 1, 2017, beginning at noon in front of sponsors RJ Rockers and Cribbs Kitchen on East Main Street. All proceeds will benefit The Children’s Security Blanket and help to provide support for local children who are battling cancer and their families.
Teams will compete to make the best custom burger while raising money for the cause. Winners will receive a trophy designed by local artists Kevin Riley and Jeremy Kemp and will have their burger featured at Cribbs Kitchen. Participants can sample slider-sized portions of the team burgers while enjoying live music, children’s activities and special guests.
Team registrations are accepted through Monday, March 20th, 2017 on Cribbs Kitchen’s Facebook page or by emailing [email protected].
The Children’s Security Blanket is a Spartanburg-based non-profit that has been serving local families affected by childhood cancer for the past 15 years. The organization provides a wide range of assistance for struggling families including making travel arrangements to healthcare facilities and providing funds for transportation, lodging, and meals while the children receive critical medical treatments. The organization, whose service area extends throughout South Carolina and portions of North Carolina, also offers tremendous emotional support, special events and other resources that enrich the lives of the children, parents and siblings.
