Lucy taught us and our children for years, providing daycare for the next generation. Tom set an example for others in his long career in textiles, while coaching hundreds of young athletes with heart & soul. They helped launch a local effort for children battling cancer – now a national model.
The C.W. and Dorothy G. Love Foundation has made an historic grant of $150,000 in honor of Lucy & Tom Russell of Spartanburg, saluting their tireless dedication to brave children battling cancer. It is entrusted to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas, the organization Tom co-founded 20 years ago, that now serves nearly 1,600 children across the entire Carolinas.
Just as Lucy & Tom have given so much to so many over the years, this is our opportunity to give back in a way that will build their loving legacy.
Contributions are invited from all the grateful families they have touched in so many ways, all those young athletes who found a friend in Coach Tom, anyone and everyone who appreciates the caring of Lucy & Tom.
