Meet Kalon
At just six years old, Kalon was a vibrant Kindergartener with an infectious smile and endless curiosity. But when mysterious lumps appeared on his neck, life took an unexpected turn.
Despite rounds of steroids and antibiotics, the swelling persisted. A deeper look through bloodwork and an MRI brought a diagnosis no child should ever face: acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
The days that followed were filled with uncertainty and challenges as Kalon began weeks of intensive treatment. But through it all, his courage never wavered.

Surrounded by love and determination, Kalon not only fought cancer, he also welcomed a new title during his journey: big brother.
“He was thrilled to be a big brother and is amazing at it,” his mom, Jessica, said.

Now 14 years old and in remission, Kalon is a testament to resilience. His journey from diagnosis to survivorship reminds us that even in the toughest battles, there is strength, there is hope, and there is life beyond cancer.
Kalon’s mom reflects on their journey and offers a heartfelt reminder:
“People should always remember that not everyone’s story has a successful outcome and always be mindful of what they say, even to survivors. Just because people see pictures or the child looks good doesn’t mean that they aren’t fighting for their lives.”
Throughout Kalon’s treatment and recovery, Children’s Cancer Partners stood by their side.
“Children’s Cancer Partners has been a blessing to our family,” Jessica shares. “From financial support and food gift cards to the wonderful holiday parties and the support they show when they text just to check in with us.”
